Ashoura on Tuesday

JEDDAH – Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Aal Al-Sheikh, Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, has said the day of fasting for Ashoura, Muharram 10, falls on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Sheikh Aal Al-Sheikh called this a way out of arguments that the crescent was not sighted to mark the beginning of Muharram. He said Saturday therefore was the last day of Dhul Hijjah and Sunday the first of Muharram. Hence, the 9th and 10th of Muharram – days on which Muslims are recommended to fast – fall on Monday (Dec. 5) and Tuesday (Dec. 6) respectively. — Okaz/SG __

Saudi Gazette

After hearing contradicting reports regarding the day of ‘Ashoorah falling on either Monday or Tuesday (5th/6th), our brother Abu Abdil Ghafoor contacted Shaykh Luhaydaan hafidhahullaah in Riyaadh. The Shaykh advised that everyone who wishes to fast the 9th/10th of Muharram, and also avoid any differing in this issue, should fast this Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (4th, 5th & 6th Dec ’11).

Brothers and sisters please make as much effort as you can to make Dua for Dammaj, especially at times when Allah does not reject the Dua of his servant.

Our dear respected older brother Dawood Burbank and his wife were killed in a coach fire from Jeddah to Makkah. Innaa lillaahi wa innaa ilaihi raaji’oon. They were in Ihram. There were no other casualties. Both Abu Talhah and Umm Talhah were in Ihraam calling out the Talbiyyah. May Allaah raise them in that state. Please keep them in our du’as along with their children and families. Allaahu Akbar, indeed we will return to our Lord. Allaah bless you.

Abu Talhah exhausted much time & effort in aiding the dawah & spreading Allaah’s religion. May Allaah reward him &his wife with Jannah Firdaws. The eyes shed tears and wallaahi the heart is saddened but we do not state that which is displeasing to Allaah. We ask Allaah to accept their deeds, accept their Hajj and widen their graves for them. Aameen!

The Prophet, salallaahu’alaihi wassallam, said regarding the one who dies in Ihram: “Wash him with water and lotus and shroud him in his 2 garments. Do not perfume him and do not cover his head or face. He will be resurrected on Qiyaamah making Talbiyah.”

Wallaahi this is sad news. May Allah guide the Shi’a and protect Dammaj and its people.

Our brother Musa Millington may Allah preserve him on Trinimuslims mentions:

Insha Allah, we must remember the statement of the Prophet  that actions are more loved in these 10 days more than other days. And from these actions is to make du’a for your brothers.

Right now Dar Ul Hadeeth is being surrounded by the Rafidah Shi’a and they are stopping the transportation of necessities to Dar Ul Hadeeth, they have even gone as far as preventing some of the brothers from going to Hajj!!

Remember them in your du’a.

As salaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakatuh.

InshaaAllaah my blog will be having some changes to it –  but not in appearances.  To be honest, I’m not really that concerned with the look of the blog so much as the content that you all can benefit from.  What I will be changing however, will be more posts with my views on values or lessons learned I’d like to share –  of course all in accordance to the sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. I’ve seen some sisters take part in this and it’s actually very refreshing to read people sharing this on their sites mashaaAllaah.

I’m not sure how often I will be doing this because I don’t want to make a commitment I can’t keep, but inshaaAllaah read them as they come along.

BarakaAllaahu feekum.
